Mathematics for IGCSE & O level - Statistical Diagrams (Section 3 - No. 47)

If a class width in a histogram is doubled, what happens to the height of the corresponding bar if the frequency stays the same?
It doubles
It halves
It stays the same
It is multiplied by the class width

Paskaidrojums

Since frequency density = frequency / class width. If the class width doubles and the frequency is constant, then frequency density, which is bar height, will be halved.
